To make sure an insurance mechanism which is open and accessible for all:

  • Provide all information, documents, policies related to the insurance services publicly in accessible formats. For web-based content consider the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

  • Make sure all insurance products provide the same coverage for all at the same cost, irrespective of an individual's risk due to their gender, age or disability.

  • Train staff and volunteers involved in providing insurance services in accessibility standards and inclusive communication.

  • Ensure that the processes for receiving and responding to feedback are accessible to persons with disabilities.

  • Allow persons in need of personal assistance, to access service areas together with their support persons (or service animals). Get consent from the person before discussion their file in the presence of a support Person.
